Are you a Thief?

Have you taken one of the recent Cash for Clunker rebates? If so, then you are a thief. For that matter, if you are taking any of the many “stimulus” package or other government handout programs, then you are also a thief.

You say that is a strong accusation? Well, look at it this way, every dime that the government spends or gives away has to come from somewhere, and the only place government can get that money is by taking it from someone else, by force or threat of force. That makes you a thief by proxy. Instead of doing your own dirty work, you have the government do it for you. With the national debt where it is, to a large degree it is your and my children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren from whom you and everyone else taking these “handouts” are stealing.

Think about it!

We The People Stimulus Package

Filed under: Government — admin @ 9:13 am

There are a couple of points in this that I disagree with, but overall it is the right message. Rather than eliminating the Electoral College, we need to restore it to its original purpose and operation. Mandatory Universal Service amounts to slavery, voluntary service builds character.

History Lesson

Filed under: Government — admin @ 7:09 am

I had forgotten all of this… Do you remember when the senators were giving Ollie North such a bad time? This brings it all into perspective doesn’t it? Have a great day.

Do you remember 1987…

Thought you might be interested in this forgotten bit of  information…

It was 1987! At a lecture the other day they were playing an old news video of Lt.Col. Oliver North testifying at the Iran-Contra hearings during the Reagan Administration.

There was Ollie in front of God and country getting the third degree, but what he said was stunning!

He was being drilled by a senator; ‘Did you not recently spend close to $60,000 for a home security system?’

Ollie replied, ‘Yes, I did, Sir.’

The senator continued, trying to get a laugh out of the audience, ‘Isn’t that just a little excessive?’

‘No, sir,’ continued Ollie.

‘No? And why not?’ the senator asked.

‘Because the lives of my family and I were threatened, sir.’

‘Threatened? By whom?’ the senator questioned.

‘By a terrorist, sir’ Ollie answered.

‘Terrorist? What terrorist could possibly scare you that much?’

‘His name is Osama bin Laden, sir’ Ollie replied.

At this point the senator tried to repeat the name, but couldn’t pronounce it, which most people back then probably couldn’t. A couple of people laughed at the attempt… Then the senator continued. Why are you so afraid of this man?’ the senator asked.

‘Because, sir, he is the most evil person alive that I know of’, Ollie answered.

‘And what do you recommend we do about him?’ asked the senator.

‘Well, sir, if it was up to me, I would recommend that an assassin team be formed to eliminate him and his men from the face of the earth.’

The senator disagreed with this approach, and that was all that was shown of the clip.

By the way, that senator was Al Gore! (Thank you Al, you are such an embarrassment to Tennessee !!)

Also:

Terrorist pilot Mohammad Atta blew up a bus in Israel in 1986. The Israelis captured, tried and imprisoned him… As part of the Oslo agreement with the Palestinians in 1993, Israel had to agree to release so-called ‘political prisoners.’

However, the Israelis would not release any with blood on their hands, The American President at the time, Bill Clinton, and his Secretary of State, Warren Christopher, ‘insisted’ that all prisoners be released.

Thus Mohammad Atta was freed and eventually thanked us by flying an airplane into Tower One of the WorldTrade Center… This was reported by many of the American TV networks at the time that the terrorists were first identified. It was censored in the US from all later reports.

The Stimulus Plan

Filed under: Government — admin @ 1:03 pm

This was sent to me in a email and I found so much truth in it that I had to share….

WORK AT THE WHITEHOUSE

Three contractors are bidding to fix a broken fence at the White House.

One is from Chicago, another is from Tennessee, and the third is from Minnesota.

All three go with a White House official to examine the fence. The Minnesota contractor takes out a tape measure and does some measuring, then works some figures with a pencil. “Well,” he says, “I figure the job will run about $900: $400 for materials, $400 for my crew and $100 profit for me.”

The Tennessee contractor also does some measuring and figuring, then says, “I can do this job for $700: $300 for materials, $300 for my crew and $100 profit for me.”

The Chicago contractor doesn’t measure or figure, but leans over to the White House official and whispers, “$2,700.”

The official, incredulous, says, “You didn’t even measure like the other guys! How did you come up with such a high figure?”

The Chicago contractor whispers back, “$1000 for me, $1000 for you, and we hire the guy from Tennessee to fix the fence.”

“Done!” replies the government official.

And that, my friends, is how the new stimulus plan will work.

Vote With Your Dollars

Think about it . . . every time you spend money you are voting. Are you voting to preserve morality and freedom, or are you voting for corruption and despotism?

Part of every dollar you spend gets donated to further some cause. This is just a fact of business.  All businesses support “non profit” organizations in one form or another, and the bigger the business the more money they feed to such organizations. The only way you can influence where this money goes is by adjusting your spending habits and telling companies why you choose not to do business with them.

While you are giving this some thought, think also about the fact that freedom and morality are inseparably connected.  It is impossible for an immoral people to remain free.

Understanding Modern Government

Filed under: Government — admin @ 8:59 pm

As tedious as it is, Atlas Shrugged has something to teach us. Don’t bother to read the book though, all you need to know is in the following quote:

“Did you really think that we want those laws to be observed?” said Dr. Ferris. “We want them broken. You’d better get it straight that it’s not a bunch of boy scouts you’re up against–then you’ll know that this is not the age for beautiful gestures. We’re after power and we mean it. You fellows were pikers, but we know the real trick, and you’d better get wise to it. There’s no way to rule innocent men. The only power any government has is the power to crack down on criminals. Well, when there aren’t enough criminals, one makes them. One declares so many things to be a crime that it becomes impossible for men to live without breaking laws. Who wants a nation of law-abiding citizens? What’s there in that for anyone? But just pass the kind of laws that can neither be observed nor enforced nor objectively interpreted–and you create a nation of law-breakers–and then you cash in on guilt. Now that’s the system, Mr. Rearden, that’s the game, and once you understand it, you’ll be much easier to deal with.”>

Cowards in the Utah Senate

The past few days have seen the media and the proponents of immorality mount a vicious attack against State Senator Chris Buttars for speaking out against the radical homosexual movement.

While it sickens me to see Reed Cowan and others abuse the the freedom of the press to mount a personal attack on someone to try and sooth their own guilty conscience over abandoning the values they once held dear, it is even worse to see those who should be standing up and supporting Senator Buttars turn into cowards. The actions of the Republican leadership in the Utah State Senate in censuring Senator Buttars is nothing but pure cowardice.

Liberty vs. Safety

Filed under: Government — admin @ 1:43 pm

Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve niether Liberty nor Safety. –Benjamin Franklin

This statement is as true today as it was when Benjamin Franklin penned it more than 200 years ago. Perhaps the greatest tragedy to come out of the events of September 11, 2001, is and will be the rate at which men and women who claim to be a free people are rushing to give up their liberties in an attempt to feel safe. History has proven that once a liberty is given up, it can only be restored through bloodshed. I pray that we as a people can prove this wrong.

I hear the great outcry for God to bless our nation to restore what was taken from us on that tragic day. I ask you, how can we call upon the God of heaven to bless us when we continue to murder 3600 of His most innocent every day in this nation through abortion? Think of it, more than half as many innocent babies brutally murdered EVERY DAY in this nation as were killed on September 11, 2001, by terrorists.

If America is destroyed, it may be by Americans who salute the flag, sing the national anthem, march in patriotic parades, cheer Fourth of July speakers – normally good Americans, but Americans who fail to comprehend what is required to keep our country strong and free, Americans who have been lulled away into a false security. –Ezra Taft Benson, An Enemy Hath Done This, Parliament, p. 6.
